Our commitment
FoundLoveHere ("we") is committed to the safety of our members and to cooperating appropriately with law enforcement. We review every request we receive and disclose member information only when we are legally required to do so, or in the limited emergency circumstances described below. Requests from members themselves are handled through our Privacy Policy.
Types of requests we accept
Formal legal process
We accept subpoenas, court orders, and search warrants issued by a court with proper jurisdiction over us. We review every request for legal sufficiency and may seek narrowing or object where a request is overbroad. The type of process required depends on the information requested; some categories (such as the contents of private communications) require a warrant or equivalent court order.
Emergency requests
For situations involving an imminent threat to life or serious physical injury (including credible reports of missing persons or threats of violence), we accept emergency requests. Include the nature of the emergency, the urgency, and a callback number so our team can respond quickly. We may disclose information voluntarily where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to prevent death or serious harm, consistent with applicable law.
Preservation requests
Upon written request, we will take reasonable steps to preserve account records pending issuance of formal legal process. Preservation requests should identify the account(s) and be submitted by email with the requesting agency's contact details. Accounts are generally preserved for 90 days, renewable upon request.
What to include in a request
- The requesting agency, the name and title of the requesting officer, badge/ID number, and a callback phone number and official email address
- A description of the records sought and the type of legal process submitted (subpoena, court order, warrant, or emergency request)
- Account identifiers such as an email address, full name, or phone number associated with the account
- For emergency requests: the nature of the emergency and why time is of the essence
Requests should be submitted by email to privacy@foundlovehere.com. We review and respond to lawful requests within the timelines required by applicable law, and typically acknowledge receipt within 72 hours. Emergency requests are prioritized — if you do not receive a response to an emergency request within a few hours, email safety@foundlovehere.com as well.
Child safety
FoundLoveHere prohibits the use of our service by anyone under 18 and by anyone misrepresenting their age. Reports involving the exploitation or endangerment of minors are treated with the highest priority, and we report apparent child exploitation to the appropriate authorities as required by law.
Notifications to members
Our policy is to notify members when we disclose their information in response to legal process, unless we are legally prohibited from doing so or we reasonably believe that notice would create a risk of harm to a person or would be futile. Emergency disclosures generally do not involve advance notice.
